Bikram Mahajan is a Partner at Unicorn India Ventures, an India focused early-stage VC fund. Mr. Mahajan brings over 20 years of experience, encompassing senior leadership roles in various domestic and offshore funds, including Investment Director at SBI Capital Markets Ventures(the VC arm of the State Bank of India), Partner at Aavishkaar Group (the largest impact fund in India with AUM ~1.4 Bn), Alpha Capital (Private Equity FII), Bay Capital (Private Equity FII) and India Discovery Fund. His investment landscape extends across Europe, North America, and Asia, with a deep[1]rooted emphasis on India, ranging from Earthport (a fintech startup in the UK acquired by Visa) and Vini Cosmetics (acquired by KKR – the largest buyout in the Indian consumer sector) to McDonald’s (listed as Westlife Foodworld) and Burger King India (through F&B Asia). Mr. Mahajan holds a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Allahabad. He is a CFA® charterholder, a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM®), and is affiliated with the Global Association of Risk Professionals and Indian Association of Investment Professionals. Beyond core investments, Mr. Mahajan has also served as an advisor to various institutionsincluding the Department of Higher Education (GoI) for establishing university incubation infrastructure, investment committee (IC) member of Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Enterprise at Pune University, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, and has also advised several multilaterals, foundations, and NGOs. A visiting professor at IIM Calcutta since 2013, Mr. Mahajan is also a regular speaker at several investment forums, business schools and Fortune 500 companies.
