Shashank Kumar

Shashank had worked as an Associate for 2.5 years in a management consulting firm in supply chain, retail and FMCG sectors. He completed his B.Tech from IIT Delhi in 2008 and he has also done minor MBA from Dept of Management. Studies, IIT Delhi in 2008.

He has been awarded as “Ashoka Fellow” in the year 2013 as one of the global changemakers.In 2014 he got featured as Forbes 30 under 30 by Forbes-India & 40 under 40 by BW Disrupt in 2017. He has also been featured among Amazing Indian by Times Now in 2014 & got awarded as distinguished alumni award of IIT Delhi in 2018.

He co-founded DeHaat in 2012 which is a unique model & technology innovation to offer end to end agri services to small & marginal farmers at affordable cost. DeHaat is a one stop destination for small farmers for their all agri needs. It's a technology platform which provides direct access to the last mile service provider for 360 degree agri services - Crop advisory, Crop monitoring, Information,wide range of agri inputs & equipment & Market linkage of agri produce. DeHaat is working directly with 200,000+ farmers in Bihar, Odisha, and U.P. & targeting 1 million farmers in next 1.5 years.

Shashank has led his team to many milestones including winning Millennium Alliance (2014),Vodafone Mobile for Good (2015), Action for India-AFI (2016) & RaboSustainableAg Asia Challenge ( 2019). He has also delivered TED talk at TEDx IIT Kanpur in 2012, TiECon Silicon Valley in 2016 & TEDTalk in 2018 at TEDx Patna. He was selected for PM-India delegation to Kenya for promoting technology in Agriculture for small farmers in Kenya & featured as Champions of Change in 2017 by Niti Aayog.
