Mr. Anil Chawla is the Co-Founder of Clix Capital. Recognized widely as a distinguished investor, Anil Chawla led the turnaround of GE Commercial Finance India, which he took over as the CEO in 1998. At the time he assumed the role of CEO, GE Commercial Finance had a small balance sheet consisting of short-term assets. Anil grew it to become one of the best performing companies with a book size of over USD 1 billion. Anil later joined D.E. Shaw & Co. India, one of the biggest global hedge funds, as its Managing Director in 2006 and lead its India business. He successfully deployed over USD 2 billion of growth capital and negotiated the widely publicized Joint Venture between D.E. Shaw and Reliance Industries. Anil got his initial learning at Citibank in its London office back in 1990 and later came to India to join IL&FS and held senior positions there before he moved to American Express Bank to head its Capital Markets Group. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
