Ankita Sheth is the Co-founder and Head of Acquisitions & HR at Vista Rooms, South Asia's largest chain of boutique holiday home rentals. Before delving into her entrepreneurial pursuits, Ankita completed her post-graduation from Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) and an M.Com. from Mumbai University. Having been brought up into an entrepreneurial joint family in Mumbai, Ankita has been exposed to the nitty-gritties of running a business from a very young age. She saw her father and uncles managing their family business in Africa for over four decades; observing their passion and commitment, she knew from an early stage that she too would do something of her own.
In 2006, she started her career at Stanton Chase, a global Executive Search firm, where her role was to work on senior level research mandates across industries. After this, she moved to Boston Analytics where her responsibility was largely centred on the resourcing function, looking into campus placements and hiring. Understanding her strengths and her entrepreneurial drive, Ankita started her own venture, Providence World, an executive search and HR outsourcing firm with clientele such as KAV & Co Mondelez, Boston Analytics and Jardin Lylod Thompson. She ran a profitable business and realized that her skills were centered on building teams and enabling people in taking ownership of their work.
Soon after, Ankita joined OYO as Head of Acquisitions – Mumbai and was the company’s first hire in Mumbai. The very concept of hotel aggregation excited her and she felt there was a huge gap which she could help fills with her zeal and her entrepreneurial and innovative way of thinking. Imbued with a passion to do more and build a robust network of branded stays in India and globally, she decided to set up Vista Rooms with the two co-founders in 2015. An avid traveller and with a key eye for details, Ankita has been to majority of the properties under the Vista Rooms umbrella to ensure service standardization.
An idealist with hardbound ideals, Ankita was part of the ‘India against Corruption’ campaign and played an active role in Anna Hazare’s Movement. She has successfully completed her project with United Nations New York in DESA. Ankita is also a founding member of YVO -Young Volunteer's Organization (yvorg.in) which is a network of over 1200+ donors who collectively donate towards sustainable causes. She prefers spending her spare time travelling with family and friends and cooking.
