Dr. Aseem Chauhan wears many hats. Besides being the Chairman and Chancellor of Amity University, and thefounding promoter of the Amity Education Group,he is also the founding trustee of the RitnandBalved Education Foundation.
The foundationcurrently hosts over 120,000 students engaged in 250 programs at 150 institutions across 1200 acres of hi-tech campuses with 6 million sq. ft. of built up area. With a remarkable number of 30campuses in India as well as campuses in London, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius, South Africa and China, Amity University and Amity Institutions have consistently been ranked amongst the top in the country.
An Engineering, Finance and Strategic Management degree from The Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania, has equipped Dr. Chauhan with the academic qualifications that support his endeavors.He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology.
Prior to founding the Amity Education Group, Dr. Chauhan also wore the hat of a venture capitalist and leveraged buyouts makinginvestments of over $ 1 billion globally. He was formerly with AEA Investors, a multi-billion-dollar private equity firm in New York, which invests funds for current and former Fortune 100 CEOs and global HNI’s.He provided early stage venture capital to biotech and hi-tech start-ups in association with Philadelphia Ventures. At Mercer Management Consulting, he wasa strategic advisor to leading companies in New York, London and Hong Kong as with JP Morgan in investment banking.
Dr. Chauhan actively promotes entrepreneurship in India, particularly amongst youth, and is on the board of over a dozen companies.100 startup ventures are being incubated at Amity Universities through Amity Innovation Incubator which was established by him. He is the veritable institution-builder with a vision to growAmity intoone of the leading education providers in the world.
A true leader and visionary keeps going and despite his hectic daily agenda, Dr. Chauhan, sets time aside to contribute to a number of committees including the Government of India’s National Committee for Biotechnology Policy, the CII National Committee for Higher, Technical & Vocational Education and the US-India Higher Education Cooperation Council. A truly global citizen, Dr. Chauhan has spent nearly two decades in Europe and more than a decade in the US. He constantly works towards elevatingsociety and the community, through his involvement in business and non-profit organizations.
