TATA.ev has launched the new avatar of its popular Punch.ev, aiming to accelerate mass adoption of electric vehicles in India. Priced at an introductory ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom) in Mumbai, the model is positioned to bring EV ownership close to price parity with entry-level petrol cars. The company is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option starting at ₹6.49 lakh with a battery usage cost of ₹2.6 per km.
The new Punch.ev is designed to address key barriers to EV adoption, including affordability, range confidence, charging access, and battery assurance. It offers a real-world driving range of around 355 km, with a certified range of up to 468 km, supported by fast charging that can power the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes. Buyers can choose between 40 kWh and 30 kWh battery pack options for flexible usage needs.
Built on the advanced acti.ev architecture, the electric SUV also features a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty with unlimited kilometres, providing long-term assurance for first-time EV owners. According to Shailesh Chandra, the model is intended to make electric mobility practical and worry-free for everyday household use across both city and long-distance travel.
TATA.ev continues to expand its charging ecosystem, now covering over 2.3 lakh charging points across 1,500 cities through home, community, and public networks. The company has also developed a nationwide superfast charging infrastructure across major highways, reinforcing its push to make electric mobility more accessible and convenient for Indian consumers.
