Tata Motors has expanded its electric commercial vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Intra EV Pickup, priced at ₹11.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Announced on Tuesday, the vehicle is aimed at small businesses and fleet operators, marking the company’s entry into the electric cargo mobility segment.
Built on the existing Intra platform, the pickup is powered by a 72 kW electric motor delivering 230 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 28.2 kWh IP67-rated battery, offering a certified range of 211 km on a single charge. The vehicle supports CCS2 fast charging, enabling it to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 55 minutes.
The Intra EV Pickup offers a payload capacity of 1,750 kg and load body options of up to 10 feet 2 inches. It is designed to cater to sectors such as e-commerce, cold-chain logistics, dairy distribution, and waste management, addressing diverse cargo transportation needs.
Girish Wagh, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors, stated that the launch reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its electric mobility solutions. He highlighted that Tata Motors already operates electric bus services across 10 cities and introduced electric trucks earlier this year.
The vehicle comes with a six-year or 200,000 km high-voltage battery warranty. Safety features include an Electronic Braking System and three-level regenerative braking. It also integrates the Tata Motors Fleet Edge platform, offering real-time tracking and predictive maintenance capabilities.
To support EV adoption, Tata Motors has established a network of over 25,000 charging points, more than 200 dedicated EV service centres, and home-charging solutions. Financing options are available through partnerships with banks and NBFCs. The Intra EV Pickup joins the company’s small commercial EV lineup alongside the Ace EV 1000 and Ace Pro EV.
