SWITCH Mobility and Adhiyamaan College of Engineering in Hosur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Skill Development Centre for electric vehicle (EV) technology. The centre will be set up on the college campus and will focus on technical and practical training related to electric commercial vehicles. The initiative aims to address the growing skill requirements of the EV industry.
The proposed centre will offer training in EV systems, charging infrastructure, battery technologies, power electronics and emerging mobility solutions. According to SWITCH Mobility, the facility will provide students and other stakeholders with practical industry exposure and opportunities for skill development. The centre will particularly focus on the practical aspects of electric commercial vehicle technologies.
R G Venkataraman, Chief Commercial Officer, SWITCH Mobility, said the company will provide technical expertise and necessary support under the MoU. He added that the programme will include practical industrial exposure and technical learning, helping students understand the real-world requirements of the EV industry.
According to Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, the centre will provide students with hands-on exposure to EV technologies and create a practical learning environment. The training will cover areas such as EV systems, battery technology, charging infrastructure and power electronics. The programme will be designed to promote skill development in line with the requirements of the electric mobility industry.
SWITCH Mobility said the collaboration is aimed at strengthening India EV talent pipeline by bringing together industry expertise and academic learning. The company added that the centre will help develop a skilled workforce for the electric vehicle industry and prepare students for career opportunities in the rapidly evolving EV sector.
