Renault Group to Acquire Full Ownership of Flexis SAS
Renault Group has signed a deal to acquire full ownership of Flexis SAS by purchasing stakes from Volvo Group and CMA CGM Group. Production of the first electric van remains on track for 2026, with Renault Trucks set to manage distribution from 2027.

Renault Group has signed a binding agreement to acquire the remaining stakes in its electric van joint venture Flexis SAS. Under the deal, the company will purchase a 45% stake from Volvo Group and a 10% stake from CMA CGM Group, subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals expected by the end of the first half of 2026.

The ownership restructuring will not impact the project’s development timeline or product roadmap. Production of the first Flexis electric van is scheduled to begin by the end of 2026 at Renault’s Sandouville Plant.

The vehicle is being developed specifically for urban logistics applications and will feature a purpose-built skateboard platform, an 800V electric motor, and a software-defined vehicle architecture. Around 1,300 employees across Renault Group’s facilities in France are currently involved in the development and industrialisation phases.

Despite the ownership change, Renault Trucks will continue to play a commercial role, with distribution of the vehicles set to begin in 2027. Meanwhile, CMA CGM Group stated it remains proud of its contribution during the project’s foundational development phase.
