Piaggio Vehicles has launched its electric commercial three-wheeler, the Apé E-City SWAP, equipped with swappable battery technology in the Puducherry retail market. The electric three-wheeler has been priced at ₹2.65 lakh ex-showroom. With the launch, the company aims to promote zero-emission commercial mobility solutions at the regional level.
The Apé E-City SWAP has been introduced in partnership with energy provider Indofast Energy. The vehicle uses lithium-ion battery packs that can be easily replaced at battery-swapping stations, helping reduce charging downtime and improve operational efficiency. The electric three-wheeler delivers a peak power output of 7.4 kW and peak torque of 32 Nm, while offering a range of approximately 110 km on a single battery cycle. It also features integrated 4G telematics for logistics tracking and fleet operations management.
Alongside the launch, regional authorised dealer Future Automobiles has introduced a local fleet operations service called ‘EV Everywhere’. Under the rental service, an initial fleet of 20 Apé E-City SWAP electric three-wheelers has been deployed to meet urban transportation requirements.
