Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ola Electric has announced that it is opening its sales and service network to dealer partners across India, marking a significant shift in its go-to-market strategy nearly five years after launching its first electric scooters.
Until now, the company had driven its growth through a network of company-owned stores, which played a key role in building EV awareness, establishing the brand, and creating a customer base of more than one million electric two-wheeler riders across the country. With the EV industry maturing and consumer acceptance growing, Ola Electric is now transitioning to a dealer-led expansion model.
According to the company, its company-owned outlets will gradually evolve into brand and product experience centres, while dealer partners will take charge of local sales, service, and network expansion across cities and towns.
Ola Electric said it has spent the past month engaging with dealers nationwide and received an encouraging response. The company believes that combining its product portfolio with dealers' local market expertise will accelerate both its sales growth and EV adoption across India.
Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, said the company initially built its own retail network to earn customer trust in electric vehicles. As the market enters a more mature phase, dealer partners will help the company reach every corner of the country through their strong local presence.
The company said dealer partners will benefit from Ola Electric's established brand, recurring service opportunities from its installed base of over one million EV customers, a comprehensive portfolio of scooters, motorcycles, and energy products including Ola Shakti, as well as a business model designed to deliver attractive returns. Ola Electric expects the programme to achieve significant on-ground scale by Diwali 2026.
As part of this transition, BVR Subbu, former President of Hyundai Motor India, will rejoin Ola Electric as Senior Advisor. Subbu previously served on the company's board and has also been a mentor to Bhavish Aggarwal.
