Mercedes-Benz India has launched its new CLA battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the Indian market. The electric sedan is available in three variants — CLA 200 Standard Range priced at ₹55 lakh, CLA 250+ Long Range at ₹59 lakh, and the top-spec CLA 250+ Launch Edition at ₹64 lakh. The company also revealed that it secured over 400 confirmed bookings even before the official launch.
The new CLA is the first model built on the Mercedes Modular Architecture and features an advanced 800-volt electrical system, enabling ultra-fast DC charging of up to 320 kW. The CLA 250+ Long Range variant can add up to 400 km of range in just 20 minutes using a 240 kW charger and offers a WLTP-certified range of 792 km. Meanwhile, the CLA 200 Standard Range delivers a WLTP range of 542 km and can gain up to 320 km of range in the same time frame.
On the technology front, the vehicle comes equipped with an AI-powered virtual assistant integrated with tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini. It also features Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as standard, which can be upgraded to Level 2+ through over-the-air (OTA) updates.
In addition, the automaker introduced a new High-Voltage Battery Report system aimed at enhancing transparency for customers by providing a system-generated assessment of the battery’s health and performance. The report will be based on physical and diagnostic evaluations conducted at authorized workshops.
To support EV adoption, buyers will also gain access to the MB.CHARGE Public network, which currently includes over 9,000 charging points across India.
