Lexus Unveils First Three-Row Electric SUV TZ
Lexus has unveiled its first three-row all-electric SUV, the 2027 Lexus TZ, offering up to 300 miles of estimated driving range and premium luxury features.

Luxury automaker Lexus has unveiled its first-ever three-row all-electric SUV, the “Lexus TZ,” for the 2027 model year. The company is expected to launch the vehicle by the end of 2026, with select variants offering an estimated driving range of up to 300 miles.

Revealed in Plano, Texas, the Lexus TZ has been developed around the company’s “Driving Lounge” concept, focusing on a quiet, premium and spacious cabin combined with an engaging driving experience. The SUV is built on Lexus’ TNGA platform and comes standard with the DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system across all variants.

The Lexus TZ will be available with two lithium-ion battery pack options  76.96 kWh and 95.82 kWh. According to the company, the vehicle has been engineered to deliver improved body rigidity, enhanced aerodynamic efficiency and smoother handling performance.

Inside, the three-row cabin has been designed to maximise passenger comfort and cabin quietness. The SUV features second-row captain’s chairs, a panoramic roof extending across all three rows with a power sunshade, and ventilated seats with power ottoman functions for front and second-row passengers.

Lexus has also highlighted sustainable craftsmanship in the new TZ. The interior incorporates “Forged Bamboo” trim sourced from Japan’s Shikoku Island along with bio-based UltraSuede materials.

The automaker claims that the Lexus TZ will offer the quietest cabin among Lexus SUVs, thanks to extensive sound insulation and aerodynamic refinements. The vehicle also introduces Lexus’ first-ever “2-in-1” charging port system, combining both AC and DC charging access in a single port. The US-spec model will feature the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port.

Additional EV-focused technologies include battery preconditioning, EV routing, range mapping, regenerative braking adjustment and external power supply functionality.

The 2027 Lexus TZ will offer an estimated driving range of up to 300 miles, standard all-wheel drive (AWD), a 120.1-inch wheelbase and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds. The SUV will also be available with 20-inch and 22-inch wheel options along with 13.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity.
