Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd., the electric vehicle arm of the Kinetic Group, has received approval for an incentive of about ₹42 crore under the Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy. The incentive will be disbursed in phases over a 10-year period.
The support will back the company’s investments in robotics-led manufacturing, battery assembly, and component localisation at its production facilities in Maharashtra. The state policy aims to position Maharashtra as a leading EV manufacturing hub through capital support, tax benefits, and incentives for component production.
The company recently launched the Kinetic DX EV electric two-wheeler, which is being manufactured at its facility in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra. According to the company, 99% of the vehicle’s components are sourced domestically, helping it qualify for the scheme.
Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd., said the incentive—linked to an investment of around 70 crore will strengthen the company’s manufacturing strategy and support production capacity expansion.
The subsidy will be used to expand production of the Kinetic DX EV range, scale up battery assembly operations, and develop robotics-enabled manufacturing lines. Established in September 2022, the company operates an 87,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
