Hero MotoCorp electric mobility brand VIDA has marked its global debut by entering Nepal, making it the brand's first international market. The company has partnered with CG Motors, a part of the Chaudhary Group, to introduce its electric vehicle portfolio in the country.
As part of the launch, VIDA has introduced the VIDA VX2 EVOOTER range and the VIDA DIRT.E K3 electric off-road model for Nepalese customers.
The VIDA VX2 lineup comprises two variants VX2 Plus and VX2 Go designed to cater to different riding requirements. The VX2 Plus is equipped with a 4.4 kWh battery pack, consisting of two removable 2.2 kWh batteries, offering a claimed real-world range of 140 km, a top speed of 90 km/h, and 18-degree gradeability.
The VX2 Go, on the other hand, features a 2.2 kWh removable battery, delivering a claimed real-world range of 75 km and a top speed of 70 km/h.
Both electric scooters support DC fast charging, with the battery charging from 0 to 80 percent in approximately 65 minutes. They also come equipped with connected features such as the My VIDA app, navigation, geo-fencing, call and SMS alerts, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
Alongside the scooters, the company has launched the VIDA DIRT.E K3, an electric off-road motorcycle designed for younger riders. It features a 350W motor, a 360Wh removable battery, three riding modes, app-based parental controls, and an adaptive three-size system. Depending on the terrain and riding mode, the model offers up to three hours of riding time.
Commenting on the launch, Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer, Emerging Mobility Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, said that Nepal marks the beginning of VIDA's global journey. She added that Nepal is a strategically important market where consumers are rapidly adopting smart electric mobility, and expressed confidence that VIDA's engineering and design capabilities will help the brand establish a strong presence in international markets.
