Havells India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Norway-based energy storage technology company Pixii AS to strengthen India's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) ecosystem. The partnership aims to introduce modular BESS solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial consumers, supporting the country's growing demand for reliable and efficient energy storage technologies.
The MoU, signed in New Delhi in the presence of Norwegian Ambassador to India May-Elin Stener, outlines a phased approach to the collaboration. The initial phase will focus on market validation and localized pilot projects to assess commercial opportunities across different regions. In the subsequent phase, the two companies plan to jointly develop integrated energy storage solutions and establish localized product assembly by leveraging Havells' manufacturing capabilities and extensive distribution network in India.
Reshu Madan, Strategic Business Unit Head – Renewables at Havells India, said the partnership will combine Pixii global technology expertise with Havells' strong local manufacturing capabilities to deliver advanced energy storage solutions for the Indian market. Thomas Ingebretsen, Chief Executive Officer of Pixii AS, added that the collaboration aims to develop scalable battery storage systems capable of meeting the evolving energy requirements of commercial enterprises and residential consumers across the country.
