EMotorad has launched its new electric cycle, ‘Viper’, as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly growing personal electric mobility segment. The model is priced at ₹66,999.
The Viper is powered by a 48V 250W rear hub motor paired with a 48V 15.6Ah removable battery. The company claims a range of up to 85 km in pedal-assist mode and around 70 km on throttle mode, positioning it in the mid-range segment of electric cycles.
The e-cycle comes equipped with front and rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and wide tyres, making it suitable for both urban roads and rough terrain. It also features a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain and can support riders weighing up to 110 kg.
A key highlight of the Viper is its NFC-based unlocking system, allowing users to access the cycle without a physical key. Additional features include a digital display, multiple pedal-assist modes, and integrated lighting for better visibility.
The launch comes at a time when demand for electric cycles in India is rising, driven by the need for low-cost, short-distance mobility options that do not require registration or licensing. With increasing competition, companies are introducing advanced features and higher-capacity batteries to stand out in the market. EMotorad stated that the Viper will be available through its dealership network as well as online platforms.
