EMO Energy to Scale EV Charging Network to 5,000 by 2027
EMO Energy plans to expand its fast-charging network to over 5,000 units by 2027, targeting last-mile electric delivery fleets. The company aims to enable faster, reliable charging to boost commercial EV adoption and reduce operational downtime.

Bengaluru-based battery technology and charging infrastructure firm EMO Energy has announced plans to scale its fast-charging network from over 1,500 to more than 5,000 chargers by the first half of 2027. The expansion is focused on commercial electric two-wheelers used in last-mile logistics, a segment with specific infrastructure needs that remain underserved by existing charging networks.

The company’s chargers are built around its proprietary ZenPac battery system, capable of charging up to 80% in just 20 minutes. Additionally, the network supports quick five-minute top-ups, enabling delivery riders to minimize downtime between trips. EMO Energy has strategically deployed chargers at dark stores and high-density delivery corridors to ensure proximity to daily operations.

Co-founder Sheetanshu Tyagi emphasized that seamless and reliable charging is critical for scaling commercial EV adoption. He noted that EMO Energy’s infrastructure is designed to meet fleet operators’ key requirements, including fast turnaround times, consistent performance, and high utilization, thereby reducing operational bottlenecks.

The announcement comes amid rapid growth in India’s e-commerce and quick-commerce sectors, which are increasingly relying on electric two-wheelers for deliveries. While EVs offer cost and emission benefits, their large-scale adoption depends heavily on the availability of fast and dependable charging infrastructure—an area EMO Energy aims to address.

Unlike conventional networks designed for private EV users, EMO Energy’s model focuses on high-frequency, short-duration charging suited for delivery operations. Its integrated battery and charging ecosystem ensures compatibility and consistency, while its ZEN technology offers over 3,000 charging cycles along with enhanced safety features such as fireproof design.

Founded in 2022 by Sheetanshu Tyagi and Rahul Patel, EMO Energy is positioning itself within India’s broader push for EV adoption. With government support through subsidies and policies, the sector is growing, though challenges like range anxiety and inconsistent charging access persist.

If the company achieves its 2027 target, it will operate one of India’s largest charging networks dedicated to commercial electric two-wheelers, supporting the transition of last-mile logistics from pilot projects to large-scale deployment.
