Eicher Trucks and Buses has successfully completed a long-distance endurance run from Kashmir to Kanyakumari using its Pro X electric commercial vehicle, demonstrating the real-world viability of electric commercial vehicles in India.
The Eicher Pro X EV covered 4,100 km from Lal Chowk in Srinagar to Kanyakumari in just six days under fully loaded conditions. The company claims this is one of the first and fastest electric commercial vehicle runs on this route, which has been recognised with four entries in the India Book of Records.
The journey traversed diverse terrains including highways, hilly regions, ghats, and coastal roads, with temperatures ranging from -2°C to 40°C. During the expedition, the vehicle used public charging infrastructure accessed via the MyEicher App.
The campaign, titled #XpertHaiTohPossibleHai, was documented by content creator Raman Nayak (Behind The Wheels) and shared across YouTube and social media platforms as a multi-episode series.
Senior officials at Eicher Trucks and Buses said the achievement validates the engineering strength and long-distance reliability of electric vehicles under real-world operating conditions, while also supporting India’s broader push towards logistics electrification and its Net Zero 2070 goals.
