Chartered Speed Limited has expanded its electric bus operations across all eight primary urban centres in Rajasthan under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme. The deployment covers Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bhilwara and Alwar. According to the company, the expansion has increased the share of electric vehicles in its nationwide operating fleet from around 10% to 25%.
The company currently operates more than 2,000 buses across multiple mobility segments and serves over 3.5 lakh passengers every day. In Rajasthan, 24 electric buses have been deployed in Jaipur and Bhilwara, while another 47 buses are operating across Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota, Alwar, Ajmer and Jodhpur, taking the total deployment to 71 e-buses across the eight cities.
Chartered Speed said the Rajasthan expansion is part of an earlier order for more than 800 buses. According to the company’s Whole-Time Director, Sanyam Gandhi, the project involves more than 800 electric buses along with a 22 MW charging infrastructure backbone.
The company aims to integrate electric buses into high-density transport corridors while strengthening the supporting charging and operational infrastructure required for large-scale electric mobility.
According to Chartered Speed, the expansion in Rajasthan is expected to create more than 1,500 direct skilled jobs across telemetry, fleet management, technical maintenance and driving operations.
Established in 2010, Chartered Speed operates intercity and intra-city transportation services across six states. Its business operations span public transportation, employee mobility, school transportation and electric mobility.
