Ather Energy Subsidiary Gets IRDAI Approval for Insurance Business
Ather Energy wholly owned subsidiary, Ather Insurance Limited, has received IRDAI approval to distribute and service life, general and health insurance products as a composite corporate agent.

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy wholly owned subsidiary, Ather Insurance Limited, has received approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) to distribute and service insurance products. Under the approval, the subsidiary can operate as a composite corporate agent for life, general and health insurance products.

According to a stock exchange filing by Ather Energy, IRDAI issued the Certificate of Registration to Ather Insurance Limited on October 15, 2026. The approval has been granted under the IRDAI (Registration of Corporate Agents) Regulations, 2015, as amended.

The approval will allow Ather Energy to leverage its existing customer base to explore new opportunities in the insurance business. The company expects the initiative to create additional recurring revenue streams beyond its core electric two-wheeler business. It also aims to improve the experience of customers and retail partners by making insurance services more accessible.

The registration is valid from October 15, 2026, subject to payment of the prescribed annual fee, and will remain in effect unless suspended or cancelled by IRDAI. Through this move, Ather Energy is looking to expand its presence in financial services alongside its electric mobility business.
