Bala Srinivasa is a seasoned name in the Indian VC and start-up world, with over two decades
of diverse investing and operating experience. He deeply understands the technology sector
and is well-known for helping define and execute go-to-market strategies for start-ups
globally.
Before Arkam, Bala was a partner at Kalaari Capital. At Kalaari, Bala sourced and invested
in tech start-ups across multiple market spaces (fintech, healthcare, SaaS, and
food/grocery). He invested and was on the board of companies like Upstox, Jumbotail, Credit
Vidya, Mettl and others. Bala is also the co-author of the book Winning Middle India – The
Story of India’s New-age Entrepreneurs, published by Penguin.
Prior to Kalaari, Bala was CXO at two start-ups. He led global sales, marketing and product
at Amba Research, a financial research and analytics provider that scaled to 2500 employees
and was acquired by Moody’s (NYSE: MCO). Bala also ran sales and marketing at Vistaar
Technologies, a US SaaS analytics company. Bala started his career as a Wall Street Analyst
covering the software sector and was Partner and senior software analyst at Pacific Growth
Equities in San Francisco.
Bala has a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, an MS in Physics from BITS, Pilani,
India, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Toledo, Ohio.
