Praful Poddar is the Chief Product Officer at Shiprocket, India’s leading eCommerce enablement
platform. Driven by the zeal to build tech-first products that solve real user problems, Praful
spearheads the product development efforts at Shiprocket. In addition to developing cutting-edge
products and helping the platform realize its goal of enabling eCommerce for BHARAT through its
cutting-edge technological stack, he actively participates in the hiring and mentoring of
aspiring professionals.
Praful completed his BE in Instrumentation and Control from Netaji Subhas Institute of
Technology and went on to complete a PGDM from IIM, Kozhikode. An MBA in Jönköping International
Business School, Sweden, Praful began his career as a Business Analyst at Evalueserve. He has 15
years of experience including important senior management roles at multiple distinguished
organizations, like Deloitte, Snapdeal, and the Ministry of Railways as a consultant. Praful
joined Shiprocket in March 2021 after his nearly 6-year-long stint at OLX Group.
In the last 10 years, Praful has done exemplary work in creating products that have impacted the
lives of over 100 million consumers and has received several accolades for the same. One of the
achievements that remains close to his heart to this day, is the Global Innovation Award from
Naspers/Prosus. At OLX, he had been instrumental in kickstarting revenue generation for the
consumer platform and pivoting the business to a car-first experience across key emerging
markets globally.
