Kanika Mayar is a Partner in Investment at Vertex Ventures. She joined the firm in 2020 and focuses on investment opportunities in India. With over 9 years of experience spanning private equity, asset management, and investment banking, Kanika brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Prior to joining Vertex, she served as an Investment Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she specialised in early-stage investments in technology, telecom, renewable energy, and infrastructure companies across India and South Asia. Before her time at IFC, Kanika worked with Goldman Sachs's Investment Banking team, where she focused on transactions in the natural resources sector in Europe. Kanika holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. She has served as the investment lead for several notable companies, including Karkhana, Kapiva, IVF Access, ChattyBao, and Onato.
