Sumit Ghosh Co-Founder & CEO, Chingari
Sumit Ghosh, a seasoned entrepreneur, is the CEO & Co-founder of Chingari App (a venture of Tech4Billion Media company). Sumit started his entrepreneurial journey at the young of 23 in the final year of engineering, when he founded Globussoft, an IT and software services provider firm. Under his leadership, the firm went on to generate a healthy annual revenue of Rs. 60 crores annually.
Sumit’s second entrepreneurial venture Socioboard was into building automation products in the digital marketing space. The Socioboard product suite includes the very famous software - PowerAdSpy which has an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of over Rs. 15 crores.
His humble beginnings in Bhilai, a city in the eastern central Indian state of Chhattisgarh have been the driving force behind developing Chingari as the social app for India’s so-called tier two and tier three inhabitants. Launched in 2018, Chingari went on to become the world’s fastest-growing on-chain social app. Moreover, under his astute leadership, Chingari became one of India's most popular short video apps. Currently, it has 5 million daily active users (DAU), 40 million monthly average users (MAU), and over 163 million downloads. Chingari is one of the top 20 most downloaded apps worldwide on Google Play. On a daily basis, more than 200 million videos are watched on the app.
Further, Chingari’s native token, GARI has empowered millions of its users to monetise their content. GARI’s active wallet users have grown to almost 600,000 in a record time of just 3 months from launch. Also, the GARI token has become the top 3 Project on the Solana blockchain.
