Karan has 18 years of global experience with over 11 years in technology-focused venture investing. Previously, Karan was a Partner and Executive Director at Chiratae Ventures (formerly IDG Ventures India). Karan has been involved in investments in leading companies including Bounce, FirstCry, HealthifyMe, Xpressbees, and CropIn.
He has invested in 20 companies overall with investments ranging from $500k to $10M in sectors including eCommerce, healthcare, SaaS/B2B, logistics, mobility, ed-tech, agri-tech, and gaming and these companies have cumulatively raised over $1B over their respective lifecycles.

Prior to Chiratae Ventures, Karan worked with QVT Finance LP, a US-based hedge fund. He earlier worked in the technology banking group at Jefferies & Company in Silicon Valley and subsequently was part of the founding team for the India office for Jefferies. Karan was recognized as one of the 40 under 40 leaders by Business World Magazine and was also chosen as one of the 40 under 40 Alternate Investment Professionals by the Indian Association of Alternative Investment Funds (IAAIF).
Karan holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and got his MBA from INSEAD.
