Tin Hang Liu, born in Italy, is an entrepreneur and an international speaker focused on: Innovation, New Mobility, and Energy. He has run his family's company called Italchina that works on remarkable transportation projects with clients like Italdesign-Giugiaro, Cagiva, Ducati, MV Agusta, AGV. Meanwhile, he also founded, in the early 2000s, two companies that pioneered e-commerce & web development in Italy. His dad (Francisco Liu) and he developed their first EV, called MyCar, in 2003, beautifully designed by Giorgietto Giugiaro and engineered in Italy using most of the components from Asia, Innovech Hong Kong acquired this project. In 2008, he moved to Silicon Valley to understand better the startup ecosystem, marketing, and innovation. He brought his know-how in Italy, founding the Social Media division in Seolab. He worked with top clients like Benetton Group Worldwide (United Colors of Benetton, Sisley, Playlife), Fox (Fox, National Geographic, History Channel), Kimberly Clark (Scottex, Teresita, Kleenex), this company was acquired by Alkemy Digital. Later, he founded Cityfan a startup about local businesses directory that got investments from the largest Italian editorial, called Repubblica, (part of Gruppo Espresso) becoming their official guide. He was a guest teacher in academic institutions like IED (International Higher Educational Network in Automotive Design) with Samsung in Milan, Turin University, previously at IULM Marketing and Communication University of Milan, University of Trento and Turin, in the Masters level and MBA, with subjects ranging from Marketing, Innovation, Online Strategies, Entrepreneurship, New Mobility. He is the founder and CEO of Open Motors, a startup (backed by Y Combinator) that developed an open hardware platform for EVs, a modular self-driving vehicle called “EDIT” engineered for Mobility as a Service. Media defined Open Motors as the “IKEA car”, “Arduino for Vehicles”, “Android for Electric Vehicles”. Open Motors is also featured on TechCrunch, Wired, Bloomberg, Fortune, Financial Times, Nikkei, 36Kr, TechNode, The Huffington Post, TopGear, The Guardian, France Televisions, Maker Faire, Web Summit, IMPACT, Next Berlin, TEDx, Roland Garros, SVIEF and more.
