President, NASSCOM
Som Mittal is President of NASSCOM, the premier trade body for the IT-BPO Industry in India and is playing a key role to enable NASSCOM and the industry realise its strategic vision of �Transform Business and Transform India�.
Som assumed office of the President, NASSCOM in January 2008. He has a rich and wide ranging work experience of over 30 years in corporate India, he has been a part of the Indian IT industry for the past 20 years. Before joining NASSCOM, he was heading the Services business for Hewlett Packard in Asia Pacific and Japan. He has also served as Chairman NASSCOM in the year 2003- 04.
He is a member of body constituted under the Chairpersonship of Hon�ble Prime Minister to implement National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). He is also a member of National Integration Council chaired by Hon�ble Prime Minister.
He has been on Chief Ministers IT Task Force in Karnataka. He is on the Governing Board of several educational institutions including IIIT at Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.
He holds a B.Tech from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
