Sh. K.H. Muniyappa,
Lok Sabha MP (Constituency Kolar), Member, Indian National Congress Party
Shri Muniyappa is a lawyer by profession. He completed his education from Bangalore University, Karnataka. He is also a renowned social worker and has an inclination to serve the poor. He was chosen to contest the Scheduled Caste reserved seat in 1991 when the party was looking for a fresh face.
Shri Muniyappa was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991 and later re-elected five times to the Lok Sabha, the latest being in 2009. Since 2012, he has held the charge of Hon'ble Minister of State with Independent Charge in Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi.
He is the founder of Harijan and Girijan Community Irrigation Well Co-operative Society Ltd and Harijan and Girijan Dairy Farming Co-operative Society Ltd and a Member of 20-Point Economic Programme, Central Silk Board, to name a few.
He takes out time, from his busy schedule, to listen to music on spiritual themes.
